Welfare in TV & Film: Mental Health Support in TV & Film

Branding Website

A visual identity and website design for mental health champions in the TV & Film industry: Welfare in TV&Film.

Welfare in TV and Film (WTF) is on a mission to transform mental health support in the entertainment industry. They recognised the need for a bold and distinctive brand identity alongside a dynamic digital platform to communicate their vision and engage industry professionals. I collaborated with WTF to create a visual and digital presence that challenges the norms, reflects their forward-thinking ethos, and drives meaningful change in the sector.

From crafting their brand identity to designing an intuitive website and developing a bespoke course portal, this project was all about creating tools and resources that position WTF as leaders in their field. The result is a cohesive, impactful brand and platform that highlights their dedication to improving welfare in the TV and film industries.

From Concept to Completion

Every element of the WTF brand was designed to be bold, impactful, and meaningful. The process began with in-depth research into the unique challenges faced by the TV and film industries.

The visual identity embraces the striking ‘WTF’ acronym to grab attention while maintaining professionalism. A carefully selected colour palette and modern typography create a fresh, approachable look. The website and course portal were designed to be user-friendly and visually cohesive, ensuring WTF’s resources are accessible and engaging for their audience.

Project Deliverables

Brand Design

The brand strategy was centred around WTF’s role as disruptors in the industry. The design focuses on capturing attention while promoting trust, with bold typography that feels confident and progressive. The vibrant colours balance energy with calm, ensuring the brand feels approachable yet authoritative. Every design decision was made to reflect WTF’s mission to stand out and lead the conversation around mental health and welfare.

Website Design

The WTF website combines bold, typography-led design with subtle scrolling animations to create an engaging yet professional experience. Large, impactful typefaces are used to highlight stark statistics, drawing attention to the gravity of the mental health crisis in the TV and film industries. Bold accents punctuate the clean layout, providing visual rhythm and ensuring key messages stand out.

Scrolling animations add a sense of flow and interactivity, making the site feel modern and dynamic without detracting from the seriousness of the issues at hand. This design approach balances urgency with usability, ensuring visitors are both informed and inspired to take action.

Course Portal and Subscription Design

The bespoke course portal was developed to give WTF members the tools they need to drive real change. This secure, user-friendly platform allows members to log in, access educational materials, manage their subscriptions, and track their progress. Video content, downloadable resources, and bookmarking features make it easy for users to stay engaged and informed. The portal reflects WTF’s commitment to providing practical solutions and supporting professionals in fostering healthier, more inclusive work environments.
